Start at The Plant Kingdom on FIDELER ROAD. Continue onto FIDELER ROAD and the road will turn into dirt becoming ECHO ACRES DRIVE. You’ll continue on this, taking a right at CESSNA WAY after the 1-mile mark. Next, take a right onto CAVU WAY, then loop right onto AIR PARK DRIVE. From here, you’ll loop left back onto ECHO ACRES DRIVE and make your way back past The Plant Kingdom and left onto FARMERS LOOP. Here you will have done a little over 3-miles. At North Tanana Drive make a right up the hill, and onto UAF campus.  Then take the first left onto Tanana Drive/Loop.  You are basically doing the perimeter of campus on the east side.  Stay on Tanana Loop. Follow Tanana Loop until it dead ins onto S Chandalar and take a left and then a right at the intersection onto Tanana Loop E. Then a quick left onto the path that will lead you toward West Valley High School (this walking path goes past the UAF Community Gardens). Take a left on SANDVIK STREET behind WVHS, and follow SANDVIK STREET to the volunteers at the pedestrian crossing light/crosswalk at UNIVERSITY AVE. Cross UNIVERSITY AVE. safely, and take a right toward JOHANSEN HWY, then a left on the bike path right before you reach the intersection of Johansen and University. Follow the bike path down to PEGER ROAD take a left on the bike path until it dead-ends at the railroad. Cross PEGER ROAD and take a right onto PEGER ROAD, heading towards PHILLIPS FIELD ROAD. Take a left on PHILLIPS FIELD ROAD. Then take a left onto NOME DRIVE and a right onto FOX AVE. Finish at the HooDoo Brewing Co. parking lot on the right! #BEER

BIB-PICKUP / REGISTRATION: Bib Pickup will be Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 5-8pm at HooDoo Brewing Co. Alternatively, at Frosty Feet Running Co. on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 2-7pm, or day of the race from 8-9am at The Plant Kingdom, if you’re in a pinch. But why wait? Register early!

POST-RACE PARTY: We transform our large parking lot into a festive post-race hangout. Plenty of room to spread out, music, beer stations, food trucks, and a heated finishers tent. Local food trucks are pay-as-you-go, but participants will get a $1-off coupon from a vendor on their bib. We will have an awards ceremony around 1pm. Friends and family are welcome to join participants for all the festivities, so bring your support crew!

REFUNDS: Sorry, there are no refunds if you don’t run/walk on race day. There are no transfers or deferrals as well.

AWARDS: Starting at 1pm, at HooDoo, we will have our awards ceremony for the top 3 women’s and men’s finishers. Sweet, locally made awards are provided by our fantastic event supporter, The Great Alaskan Bowl Company.

Locally-made birch beer steins are given to the top 3 male and female finishers.

WALKERS: Walkers are welcome on the course and encouraged! If you go over the 5-hour time limit, not a huge deal as HooDoo will still be open, but the post-race festivities may be wrapping up.

STROLLERS/KIDS: By all means, get the kids involved. Strollers are allowed and encouraged! Kids 12 and under are FREE to participate with a parent/guardian, but they will not get race swag. For participants aged 13-20 see below.

PARTICIPANTS AGE 13 TO 20 YEARS OLD: For runners/walkers that want to race and will be between the ages of 13 and 20 at the time of race day, you can enter for a flat fee of $55. You get all the race support and the official tee shirt (register by August 1 to guarantee the tee), but you won’t get a race bag with swag and beer tokens (of course!). Please note that you will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the post-race festivities and inside HooDoo Brewing Co. To remain on the premises, you must have a parent or legal guardian – No Exceptions.

DOGS/PETS: We love them, but please leave them at home.

SHUTTLES: Parking at the start is EXTREMELY limited.*
There will be shuttles on race morning, so please take advantage of them. We will have shuttle info closer to race day.
* If you do not want to use the shuttles, please plan on getting dropped off before starting.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms will be at the start, finish, and half-way point.

HYDRATION STOPS: Plan on stops every 2-3 miles with water and sports drink…and BEER at the end!

MEDICAL SUPPORT: We have been working with the city of Fairbanks on planning. They are aware of the race and on-call if needed. Volunteers will be on the course to assist.

RACE RESULTS: Past race results can be found here. A race chip will be attached to each person’s bib. Please do not remove the timing chip. Please ensure that your bib is clearly visible on the FRONT of your race apparel. It serves as a backup if your timing chip does not function properly (this is not anticipated but happens sometimes).

WHERE DOES MY MONEY GO? Your registration fees also go toward providing a quality half-marathon race experience. We are paying professionals to provide real-time and accurate timing, which includes setup, bib printing, and chip timing. Insurance, city permits, registration services, and participant swag is covered, too. Thanks to participants, the race can significantly contribute to a local non-profit. HooDoo Brewing Co. is not taking any profits from registration fees. Any money left over will be put into a set-aside account for next year to build upon. We want this to be a high-quality and safe yearly event for Fairbanks that is fun for all.
