Once again, we’ve partnered with the Alaska Railroad and Lavelle’s Bistro to offer beer enthusiasts an evening of Oktoberfest-style fun aboard the HooDoo Choo Choo beer train. The train will depart Fairbanks at 4 p.m. Saturday Sept. 26 for an evening of brew sampling aboard a round trip rail journey to Nenana.
The HooDoo Choo Choo offers passengers the atmosphere of a beer festival in a truly unique setting: traveling through Interior Alaska aboard the Alaska Railroad. The experience is completed with our specialty brews, hors d’oeuvres from Lavelle’s Bistro and a fun crowd of beer connoisseurs. This year, we will also have door prizes and each passenger will receive a commemorative stein.
“We’ve wanted to do a special train in Fairbanks for some time, and are excited to make it happen with Lavelle’s and HooDoo,” said Bruce LaLonde, Alaska Railroad director of guest services and passenger marketing. “We’ve had some fun with the name, but guests will find this train is serious about great brews and food.”
If riders fill up their “Beer Passport,” additional brews will be available for purchase. You must be 21 or over to purchase a ticket.
