Taste: Bourbon, Smoke, Chocolate
2025 3:41 is a beautiful blend of two beers brewed a year apart. Making up two-thirds of the blend is a Smoked Imperial Stout brewed a year ago and aged in Widow Jane Bourbon barrels. The final third consists of a rich Imperial Stout aged for a full two years—half in Desert Door Sotol barrels and half in Russell’s Reserve Bourbon barrels. During their time in oak, the stouts breathed in and out of the barrels, pulling layers of bourbon and sotol character along with notes of vanilla and charred oak. After aging, the beers were reunited before bottling and kegging. This year’s 3:41 clocks in at 11.3% ABV and is smooth and expressive now, with the structure to cellar for a decade or more.
